We offer a wide array of consultative and technological resources, including:

  • Curriculum and course design and development, including techniques for actively engaging students, aligning course activities with learning goals, and effectively assessing student learning
  • Digital learning strategies and media production, including development of media for study in advance of class meetings, digital resources to supply additional background when needed by a portion of the class, “flipped classroom” pedagogy and learning material, advanced material for additional group projects, and video recording, screencast, motion graphics, and editing
  • Evaluation of existing courses, including mid-quarter online or in-person consultation, and successful use of the new course evaluation system
  • Innovative learning spaces, including specialized and technology-enhanced classrooms, and support for informal and residential-based learning
  • Student support to accompany curriculum, including TA training, tutoring, academic skills coaching, computing and audiovisual equipment, advanced media software and consulting, and maker-space resources for student projects
  • Web platform development, user support and customization, including custom enhancements and extension modules for the Canvas learning management system and  the Lagunita (open EdX) platform for campus and external learners, when appropriate
  • MOOC and professional education course and curriculum development, including free courses to publicize accomplishments of major research projects and research centers, as well as free or revenue-producing courses to reach broad or specialized audiences
