TA Training Grants

The Office of the Vice Provost for Teaching and Learning (VPTL) supports departments or programs that wish to establish a new teaching assistant training program or to enhance an existing program. For TA training ideas, see  https://teachingcommons.stanford.edu/ta-support/ta-training.

Awards of up to $2,500 are available as one-time seed grants for the next academic year (September 1- August 31).

Who can apply: faculty, lecturers, academic staff, and graduate students supporting department or program TA training For more information, please contact Mariatte Denman.

Tips for Successful Proposals

  • Proposals must have the endorsement of the department/program chair and of the faculty member with oversight for TA training.
  • Proposals should involve, if possible, graduate student collaboration in the program design and implementation.
  • VPTL grants are one-time seed grants, and it is expected that ongoing support, if needed, will be provided by sources other than VPTL.
