Beginning with the 2019 academic year, VPTL will be known as the Office of the Vice Provost for Technology and Learning, further refining our focus on learning technologies, classroom and learning spaces, blended and online learning, and global and extended education. Vice Provost Mike Keller will continue to lead VPTL, working with the leadership team of VPTL Senior Associate Vice Provost Charles Prober, founding director of the Stanford Center for Health Education; Associate Vice Provost Richard Webber, chief technology officer, Learning Technologies and Spaces; Associate Vice Provost Paul Marca, Stanford Center for Professional Development; and Associate Vice Provost Carissa Little, chief of staff, VPTL.
Our mission remains constant: to support the Stanford community, including faculty and instructors, students, schools, and departments, in advancing educational experiences for students on campus and around the world.
VPTL is home to several centers and units: Learning Technologies and Spaces, the Stanford Center for Professional Development, the Stanford Center for Health Education, and Stanford Online. We remain focused on supporting Stanford’s mission to inspire lifelong learning, increase access to knowledge and learning, and educate today and tomorrow’s leaders.
Our colleagues in the Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) have moved to the newly formed Vice Provost for Faculty Development, Teaching and Learning, under the leadership of Sarah Church as vice provost. Access their programs and services at ctl.stanford.edu.
