Ten Premodern Poems by Women brought together poets from across Stanford’s Creative Writing Program to discuss great, often overlooked works from the past. Created by professor and poet Eavan Boland, the course offered a window into the lives and times of women through their writings. Designed for maximum interaction with learners at all levels, the course featured weekly videos in which Boland and a fellow member of the Creative Writing Program engaged with participant questions and comments. Ten Poems facilitated creation and sharing of poetry, with learners writing in the forms and on the topics of such writers as Wheatley, Bradstreet, and Dickinson.
