This hands-on Spring Break Course Design Institute will help graduate students and post-docs develop or revise courses to be taught at or beyond Stanford. Using a framework grounded in research on student learning, participants will learn to develop appropriate and meaningful student learning goals, and to build courses that will allow students to meet these goals. We will discuss syllabus design, aligning assignments and assessments with learning goals, and maximizing student engagement. Students will receive feedback from peers and VPTL consultants and will produce a draft of a course syllabus by the end of the Institute.
Session runs March 27, 28, and 29.
Applications are due by midnight on March 10, and you will hear back from us with a decision by March 16.
